LOUISE KABBELGAARD
CREATIVE DIRECTOR & HEAD OF BRAND, KONÉ
Laura M. W. Nørgaard and Louise Kabbelgaard are helping shape a new chapter of Copenhagen design. As Creative Director and Head of Brand of KONÉ, they have taken the much-loved accessories house founded by Yvonne Koné in 2011 and are carrying it forward with their own point of view—honoring its Italian craftsmanship while bringing a distinctly Danish sensibility to simplicity, longevity and form.
At the heart of their work is a strong sense of what deserves to stay. Rather than responding to a constant cycle of newness, Laura and Louise have focused KONÉ around fewer, better things: revisiting the archive, reducing designs to what feels essential, and expanding the world around the brand through an ongoing dialogue with architecture, interiors, art and craft.
It’s this ability to look beyond what is simply beautiful and recognize what has lasting value that makes their perspective so compelling. With an eye shaped by Copenhagen’s creative culture and a shared appreciation for quality, restraint and living well, Laura and Louise bring the kind of discerning taste we want to follow—and an equally compelling point of view on what is truly worth our attention.
SAWA
"Our dear friend Anne Line founded the skincare brand SAWE. Their formulations are so pure that they are gentle enough to be used on babies. We keep our skincare routine simple and wear as little makeup as possible, so finding products that are both nourishing and genuinely effective has been a true pleasure. They provide exactly what our skin needs while still catering to our individual skin types and concerns. Just as importantly, they are thoughtfully priced, which means a great deal to us. Choosing a three-day work week means prioritising time over money, and we appreciate brands that make exceptional quality feel accessible."
CAIA LEIFSDOTTER
During 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen, we had the pleasure of collaborating with architect and interior designer Caia Leifsdotter, someone we care deeply about. We share the same clean, minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic, along with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless design. We admire her furniture and glassware immensely and feel incredibly fortunate to have many of her beautiful pieces throughout our store and creative studio in Copenhagen.
LOUISANA MUSEUM OF MODERN ART
"We never tire of visiting Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, just north of Copenhagen. Beyond its inspiring exhibitions and thoughtfully curated collection, it offers one of the most wonderful creative spaces for children to explore and play. Surrounded by beautiful gardens overlooking the sea, it is equally perfect for a leisurely lunch or a picnic, making every visit feel both inspiring and restorative."
BIRROT
We have been following the Danish-South Korean brand Birrot for some time and truly admire their approach to working with substantial yet exceptionally wearable fabrics, creating a minimalist and effortlessly luxurious aesthetic. We are especially drawn to their clean, tonal colour palette, and several of their beautifully crafted pieces have found a place on our wishlist.
KALVEBOD BØLGE
One of the greatest things about living in Copenhagen is that it feels like a small city with a big heart. There is always fresh air, an open sky, a glimpse of greenery, or the water just around the corner. Throughout the city, the canals are clean enough for swimming, something we both treasure. Whether on a warm summer day or during the depths of winter, taking a dip is a wonderful way to reset both body and mind. Just as special is the atmosphere it creates, with people gathering by the water in the very heart of the city, making Copenhagen feel both vibrant and remarkably calm.
